Big Leafed Sabal
by Guest Keith in Zone 9- 2 replies
- 2.6k views
I'd like to place one of the big-leafed Sabals (i.e. causiarum, maritima, domingensis) across the pond from the house. I'm in Jacksonville, FL so it should be a species that will recover from a night in the mid teens every once in a while (say every quarter century or so). I'd "make do" with a nice, blue Sabal uresana as a substitute. Also, it needs to be a pretty large plant because the *%^$ing Armadillos dig things up. If you are located in FL, or in one of the SE US states, it'd be better. Let me know, Sincerely, Keith keithsa@mac.com

Hello all Looking for nice 10 - 15 gallon size. I heard that Home Depot carries them but have never actually seen them. Also heard that they get them from Florida nurseries and by the time they make it here, they are in the process of dying slowly. In any case, can someone please direct me in the right direction. PM me or just post. Thank you so much!!! Cheers! Tim
