Desperately searching for Pandanus utilis!
by JenRiot321- 5 replies

Hello! Been a longtime lurker and my desperation to get this plant has led me to finally make an account! I’m looking for a smaller sized tree, anything from maybe 5 gal to a large seedling size. I have reached the end of the internet trying to get one to me here in San Diego and have still had zero luck. You know when you get obsessed with that “one” plant and need it more than any other? Pandanus utilis has become that one for me. Not sure why it’s been such a long, fruitless search, but anyone who might be able to help me out would be soooo appreciated! Willing to pay cash or trade for any number of the rare plants I have. Please message me! …

I've been thinking of trying Carpentaria Acuminata, Ptychosperma Elegans, and Ptychosperma Salomonense here for a skinny small-ish canopy palm. I found a few random sources for seeds or seedlings, but was hoping to buy a few from a PTer. I'd prefer seedlings if available, just because I have 11ty billion things to do and I keep forgetting to pay attention to sprouting seeds! Please let me know if you have any available or can suggest a reliable source.

Where to buy fresh Butia Odorata & Jubaea Chilensis seeds?

As the title states - I don't know where to find fresh Butia Odorata and Jubaea Chilensis seeds... I have had no luck germinating the 2 batches of butia seeds I've bought, so I fear that the ones I bought weren't fresh. Usually I just buy my seeds off eBay, but I don't know how to guarantee the ones I buy are freshly harvested, and there are no Jubaea seeds on eBay at all. In short, do you guys have any reliable sources for either of these seeds (I'm in the US) or any tips on methodology to germinate them? With the Butias I tried the baggie method with soil and with paper towels, and I tried just putting the seeds in a community pot in a hot room and keeping the soil mois…

i recently got a windmill palm a couple weeks ago from Brighter Blooms which is doing well, but recently I have been trying to look for any kind of sabal palm that I can get my hands on. I would either like to get a 5 gal Sabal Birmingham or Sabal Minor. either would work for me. (or just a standard Sabal Palmetto) any recommendations to find any species of Sabal palms online? thank you in advance!

There is a 15G Brahea clara I found in Fallbrook. The retailer does not want to ship the palm to me in Texas. If someone is willing to go pick it up, pack it, and ship it to me, I agree to the following terms in writing: - I will reimburse you for any associated shipping costs - I will pay you an additional $100 for the service - I will name my next kid after you. Just kidding on the last one. Maybe.... PM me if you will help, thanks!

Seeds of Howea
by Darold Petty- 0 replies
I wish to purchase fresh seeds of either species. Whenever I order them from random online sources the seeds are always old and dried up, with an epicarp that is completely brown. Send me seeds colored dark yellow or maroonish-red. I can pay $50 for 100 seeds, plus $20 shipping. The most efficient shipping is really easy, just use a USPS small, flat rate box at $10-11. This does require a trip to the post office to obtain the box, and then again to post it. Thanks ! PS-- An image of the seeds and parent tree would be helpful.
