I always used Diazinon.  I start off half the recommended dose and go up from there as needed.

When using the baggie method for seeds I always gave the seeds a 24 hour soak in a 10:1 solution of Diazinon and just kept an eye our until the seeds were ready to pot up.  The seed soak should take care of any fungus that wants to pop up.  Hope this helps.

Diazinon is a pesticide...I don't think it has anti-fungal properties.  Do you mean Daconil Jeff?

I also use Daconil (chlorothalonil) and Subdue.  The Subdue definitely works on some pathogens that Daconil does not touch.

I use Daconil (chlorothalonil), and I always use it in heavier doses than recommended.  I like how the white residue sticks to the plant when it's not as diluted as much.  I'll pour it all over the seedling and into the soil to drench it.  Then I make sure that I don't water the seedling for a week so that it dries out pretty good (careful not too much drying on sensitive species).  Once the Daconil is dry, subsequent waterings won't wash it off easily.  I got the idea from my neighbor Bob.  He sprays all his Cycads caudexes with a heavy application of Daconil in the winter.  They are white with residue even after some rainfall.
