Planted this parajubaea torallyi last week from a 25g container. It was leaning in the container and looks almost worst in the ground. Any suggestions so that I do not have a long term issue ?

Water! And lots of it if your soil drains pretty well...if not, let it dry out a bit before soaking again.

I've dug and transplanted quite a few of these and they're generally pretty tough, so hopefully it pulls through.

do they ever lean like that ? the trunk is almost fully straight. never had this issue before

No, I've never had that issue.

Has the weather been stinking hot since you planted it out? They seem happiest in cooler conditions usually, so it might be a bit of heat stress potentially?

The more I look at your pictures, the more I think it needs a deep drink!

Yep more water for sure and as @Jonathan has the good word on these ones for water, may i suggest a nice little seaweed extract fertiliser for that vitamin B stress relief, at the manufactures recommendations gor there product.

Our weather has been in the 80's and 90's. It has only been in the ground for about 8 days. It was leaning in the 25g pot as well. I thought putting it in the ground would make it better. Maybe it just needs time ? I watered it in as soon as it went into ground and has gotten water every other day since.

Thank you, when backfilled and freshly installed I added some organic palm tone. Maybe it needs some more water and time. Any suggestions on the lean ?

I planted a 25g over a year ago that had less of a lean but it has started to straighten out. It didn’t do anything for about 9 months in the ground.

I wouldn't worry about the lean...would be amazed if it didn't straighten out once it's up and growing.

Richard's suggestion above about seaweed extract is a good one.
