If you want a palm that’s easy to grow and fit into any reasonable small space, the feather palm, wedding palm or the lytocarum weddlianum is the one. Easy to grow and germinate, single plants will set viable seeds. Quite cool and dry tolerant. Perfect understory or bright light palm.

An absolute beauty of a great palm that’s gives a lot of effect for little work!

    They’re pretty rare over here too.

    Millbrook, "Kinjarling" Noongar word meaning "Place of Rain", Rainbow Coast, Western Australia 35S. Warm temperate. Csb Koeppen Climate classification. Cool nights all year round.

    I have three together here in this spot and I have one all by its lonesome somewhere else, it needs to move, and I’ve been trying to figure out where to place the bloke…

    They are a lovely palm, I thought they would be more available in your part of the world, if you see one grab it they are cool tolerant and would do well in your climate.

    They also make great container palms, slow growing as well.

    Nice palms growing there, I do know with seedlings and small plants they are very root sensitive, I have never transplanted a large one, and the small 140mm container planted ones never lived once transplanted. Unless you can get a good root ball with a machine I would leave it alone. Be a shame to lose such a beautiful advanced palm. If it was my palm I would leave it alone!
