Seeking suggestions to bring the palm back to good health. It lives in side most of the year; however, the frons started to droop and turn brown the last couple months so I cut them off. Been using palm tree booster but now wondering if it has root rot. It’s been in the same pot for 3-4 years.

Would you repot the tree to confirm if has root rot?

Whoa we a problem child here, it looks overpotted and overwatered. But you say in the container for the last 3 to 4 years. If it’s been indoors most of the time, has it been putting on new growth and growing quite well over those 3 to 4 years. Possibly overwatering and it may have gotten too much fertiliser. Let it dry out, rest outside in warm shaded area. Mucking around repotting while it’s not happy is not a good idea. It may lead to more problems. Rest outside and dry out may be your solution.

It is growing new frons but they seem to turn brown and droop over and all other frons too.

Its outside in shade but it has been raining quite a bit.

I think it needs more sun, heat and time to dry out between watering. Keep it on the south side of the house. If you want to limit sun, set a large umbrella to the west side to cast shade after 2PM or 3 PM.

I just repotted it with better drainage in smaller pot. Cut some roots off too 🤞

It was definitely sitting in wet soil.

Here it is now. I left the wilted fronds. It looks horrible 😔

Keeping it outside is the best medicine for it right now. Phoenix palms are survivors! Chances are, it will produce 2 or 3 new 'sun grown' fronds by fall, when it should be brought back inside with night temps below 40F.

Would you cut off the drooping fronds?

If they're green, level them on.

I did, drooping and bend. Some green. Hoping for the best.
