Only had 2 out of 3 planted Washingtonias survive over the winter. Here is the growth difference from a year and two months ago. Palms are thriving even after almost complete defoliation. The last picture shows the one that died in the front with the other two that lived behind it, picture taken after winter ended. I was very impressed with the resiliance and growth speed of these palms.     I agree I was so happy to see the speed of the frond growth, we had tons of rainfall for the past week and I gave them fertilizer a few weeks back also. The bigger one was pushing fronds throughout winter, even though they would end up taking damage. I gotta say that big one seems to have some beast genetics.
