Well done with that Erythrina-they seem to be tricky to keep going, at least for me anyway.

I keep my E. acanthocarpa in a clay pot, water it sparingly, put it in full sun most of the year, but keep it dry and under a roof overhang in the winter.  Each year it's not predictable how many blooms it will produce.  Definitely a prickly plant that doesn't allow much touch; best to admire it from a respectful distance!

Spiny or not, ..Don't think most plants appreciate constant fondling of their parts...  Spines / other means of personal space defense = less filing of charges against said 2 - legged fondlers, haha...
