I planted this  coco crinita back in 2001.  It was a tiny thing that was a bit wobbly in the pot.  I figured it would throw some adventitious roots and firm up.  5 years later, I've had it propped up with some wood boards, but it still can't keep itself upright.  Do I need to build up more dirt around the base of the trunk?  (Don't mind the weeds...new mulch going down today 🫣)

Stake it among 3 lengths of rebar. Don't prop it up with 2x4s and the like. I've staked wobbly palms for years before they secured themselves. C. crinita is a very persnickety palm. I've never been able to keep one alive long term, which is probably an observation on my horticultural skills rather than the palm itself.

The rebar is a great idea to stabilize.  Take a look under all that fuzz at the base.  If it’s hiding a bunch of adventitious roots down there, maybe build up the base with good soil and mulch on top of that.  I had a wobbly crinita hybrid, and this worked within a year.

Both great ideas thank you.  Will look underneath for some adventitious roots.  I thought about staking...do you prefer the strap material that comes in a roll or just some rope?
