Sabal palm petiole broke in wind storm, should I cut or leave?

Had a bad storm last night, looks like the wind broke a Sabal palm petiole and now it's dangling. Should I cut to prevent disease or leave it? It's very green still including the fronds itself. These are 3-4 foot long petioles.

I personally don't remove fronds that are still green, but seems that your palm is large enough that it won't matter if you cut it off.  I have a small queen palm that had a healthy frond bent in strong winds last March similar to your Sabal and it is still on the palm!  No issues.  Is it S. palmetto?  I think I see a bunch of ripe fruits there.

It's a Texas sabal. Those aren't fruits, that stuff in-between my palm is my holly tree in the background distance, funny angle.

A leafless Holly tree, or did the wind strip it?
