cfpacs Central Florida Palm & Cycad Society - Spring 2026 Meeting

With the conclusion of Plantae-palooza, we're pleased to announce that we have our spring meeting in three short weeks.  The itinerary for the meeting is shared below:
 

Date: Saturday, March 21st, 2026
Time:10am – 4pm
Location: Jones Landscaping Nursery, 9357 STATE ROAD 80, MOORE HAVEN, FL 33471-5795
Details:

• A BBQ lunch will be served at no charge.  
• Note that the only vendor allowed to sell at this meeting is the host.  
• We will not have a vendor sale for society vendors.  
• We will have a plant auction at the conclusion of the meeting.

Please Bring:

• Side or Dessert to share at lunch
• A chair for comfort
• A palm, cycad, or companion plant for the auction

Just a reminder that is meeting is scheduled for this coming Saturday.  While speaking with the society president last night, he asked if me (and anyone else that could) would bring tables and chairs to ensure enough space to sit and eat for everyone.  I'll be bringing a table and 4 chairs.  If you happen to be attending and can bring a tale and a few chairs, we'd appreciate it.  Better to have too many than not enough. 

Looking forward to seeing everyone, having a good time, and getting some plants and seeds that don't mind our cold spells.

Sadly I am working this weekend and looks like my weekends are booked for the next several planned meetings.  Hopefully I get to attend at least one this year 🤞

Friends don't let friends work jobs that interfere with meetings LOL.  We do hope to see you at a few events.  If you're not working May 2nd and can make it to SJBGNP, that should be an epic sale.

A quick update regarding food:

Our normal BBQ vendor was not able to fill our order.  As a result, we'll serve Publix subs and sides.  Please bring a side or dessert.  We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

It was great to see @aabell, @RiverCityRichard, @PalmJuan, @PalmBossTampa, @Jason Briscoe, @Jblume, @kinzyjr, and @SW_FL_Palms.  At the meeting, mixed in with tons of folks that are not currently on PalmTalk.  We hope to see you all again soon!  The next meeting is being rescheduled due to damage to the original host's garden.  At this time, we're still in the process of confirming the site(s), so look for a thread on PalmTalk in the near future.  You can also check the Events section of the CFPACS Website, check our Facebook page, and join the society on the Membership section of our website.
