There a lonely Coccothrinax crinita sitting in corner, at the Pompano Beach, FL Lowe’s on US-1, for $150, if anyone is interested……

Overgrown in about a 7g pot.    If I had a spot in mind, I’d grab it.

That seems to be a good deal . From what I’ve read , they are slow growing palms . That one has some age to it . Harry

Edit: our Lowe’s , here , is pathetic for palm selection . You folks in Florida have a great selection. If you find a spot for it , I would grab it.

Agree - That would be a fantastic deal on the west coast! Location, location, location. 😊

4 years ago, we had a local Arizona nursery import 2 pallets of 7 gallon old mans, (18 trees) priced at $250 each. They literally sold out in less than a month! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, here, as rare palms are almost never available locally with any size to them.

Indeed a (possibly) once in a lifetime buy here on the West Coast!

Thank you again for helping me snag THREE of them! One sadly didn’t make it, but the other two are doing great. 🎉

I'd love to have a smaller one. I remember Ricky Bobby's did pretty well in his palm room.

Went there today to get another round of 14 bags of mulch (need about 70 bags total for the front yard as I go section by section with the spring mulching on days off).
…… didn’t see the Old Timer.   Someone made off with him.

It obviously was a good idea to get more than 1 to 'hedge your bet' so that you would at least have an example to plant in your garden. I only bought 1, but enjoyed it very much before it died after a couple months. I believe the shipment had been exposed to freezing temperatures in the early February transport from Florida to Arizona as I know of a few buyers that had their trees get crown infections and succumb. I ended up replacing mine in that prime location with a Coccothrinax miraguama that I grew from seed that has performed wonderfully for the last 3 years. Nowheres near as large yet, but someday...😄

Bargain at that price, a lot of palm for a small investment!
