We had wind gusts up to 35 mph.  So far nothing fell or broke, but I haven't walked the two acres as it's also been raining.  At least I'm saving irrigation money.

@WaianaeCrider, looks like I'm not the only one dealing with these kind of winds today.  No rain here since December though.  Nice to hear the wind in the palm fronds.  I had a couple of bent green palm fronds today.  🙄

Wow I didn’t realise that kind of wind was that rare in Hawaii. We get gusts over that regularly. I wouldn’t describe today as a windy day, but we had gusts up to 57km/h (35.4km/h). I guess that’s one more reason why things look perfect in Hawaii, but I don’t often think of wind as a factor in climate.

Wind can be destructive to the garden . I hope yours survives without damage. We get offshore winds here that can break fronds and scatter debris throughout the yard. This year has been very windy . I lost a few fronds on my tallest Howea , which is rare . The gusts were well over 50mph.

Glad you got rain . We finally got rain after a long dry spell. Water ain’t cheap! Harry

These winds are really dangerous. Here, they are becoming increasingly violent and should not be underestimated. Even large trees that appear strong can be seen lying on the ground afterwards. It's terrible.
A friend of mine had a fir tree that had been described as healthy and stable a few months earlier, but it recently fell directly onto the house of a colleague near the Austrian border. There was enormous damage, but he was away and has no children, and his neighbors are further away...

Bit crazy in the middle of the Mediterranean as well at moment. But on the plus side, the temperatures are warmer than normal

Nothing prettier than fronds moving in the breeze! 35 mpg sustained winds would be considered very high here too but are pretty “gentle” compared to Hurricane/Cyclone winds!

In addition to the bent palm fronds here's the damage the winds did to my Cascabela thevetia the other day.
