Hey guys, I went up to visit my dad in reno for christmas and when I came home tonight I was horrified when I checked the low temp. on my digital thermometer- 20.4 degrees F!!!! OUCH!

Nothing was protected so I'm worrying (sort of) and asking you guys if you can confirm this?? I took a quick look tonight when I got home and nothing looked immediately horrible- but I know things might show up later..

So, I'm asking you guys in the east bay and beyond what your lows were last night so I can know whether or not to get a new thermometer and throw this old broken one (hopefully) out, or start mixing up the Daconil!

Thanks.

Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

Hot, dry summers. Cold, wet winters.

I don't believe I was specific enough. This is in regards to the night of Dec. 24-25. I've been checking every day besides christmas eve and the lowest we've gotten down to is 27. It just seems fishy..... and besides, some of the more sensitive stuff like my Manihot or bananas should be absolutely melted at that temperature!

Thanks everyone for the help with this!

Hi Patrick,

On Xmas eve night, it got lower than forcast, but my low was 28F and I didn't cover anything either, but I see no damage. I think your high/low is screwed up. My low this morning is around 39F, but tonight is supposed to get, VERY COLD, so I'm covering the tender ones.

okay, thanks Dick. I figured that but just wanted to confirm- you're always a degree or so colder than I

Thanks for the heads up for tonight, too. I had heard about it earlier in the week, but needed the reminder!

It has been chilly lately, but not that cold. That must have been a scare. The day you speak of, the temp was not that cold.

Thanks Palmy. Hopefully tonight's not too bad- It sure isn't looking too nasty. The wind is still blowing a bit.

I know!! My thermometer must have been re-hashing LAST years temperature! Whoops!
