All good Steve. Plenty of rain to be sure at times, but breaks in between that allows some to soak in. More on the way for the next 3 days as well. It is indeed cool between systems; was 42F this morning. Pretty cool for mid November...

We have had close to 7” of rain up on the foothills of Santa Paula! According to the forecast , more in store for tomorrow. Our low this morning was 48f so ….yea , burrr. I have French drains all around the house for the gutters so not much puddling or standing water anywhere. The palms love water and our soil is fast draining. Last year we got less than half our normal rainfall , which is about 18” . These last two storms total almost 10” ( one storm a few weeks ago was almost 3” ). This is a welcome relief. Harry

Now if it would rain like that here regularly during the summer, we would be almost like Florida's weather.

What's funny is that almost no one in my area checks weather anymore (since it's almost always the same). So it's a shock anytime the weather is of note.  "What is this strange thing coming down from the sky?!"  🌧️ 😮

With this latest (huge) storm I was in the know, but my neighbor was confused seeing us hurriedly moving soil from my driveway (from a recent delivery) and covering it with tarps.  Happily I didn't lose any my beloved soil purchase down the drain.  Other than that, it was mostly bringing in all the items I often leave outside due to laziness. ✂️

It's rare, but when we do have a severe storm, it's all anyone can talk about. 🗯️

I’ve got all my neighbors fertilizing their grass and plants before any rain now. 👍🏻

Free deep watering is a good thing for us in SoCal.

We got about 4 inches in Fresno, which is close to half of what we normally get in a whole year. Everything's drenched, and we usually get dense fog after a heavy rain so things take a while to dry up. Today's the last rainy day and then it seems we'll get some sunshine to help dry up. My soil is deep, sandy loam so no standing water or flooding. Palms are loving it.
