Variegated Parajubaea torallyi

Featured Replies

I was doing some trimming this weekend and thought I would share my variegated parajubaea. It’s tall enough that I don’t get to really see it that much until I take a leaf down. Here’s a few pics.

never seen one before.  very cool.  thanks for sharing.  too bad its never going to be at eye level because those things get massive.  i can speak from experience.  haha

btw has your super silver turned silver on top. i always think about your post when i look at mine which is still green on top but i know yours is much older and larger. well it must be massive by now and you probably can't tell unless you rent a cherry picker. haha

Yeah. It turned silver on top when it Al was about 3-4 feet tall. I between the pleats it stays a little greenish. I’m hoping it will flower soon. It seems to be about the size I’ve seen them flower in habitat (I’ve seen photos only. Not in person). I can only get a good pic of the top now when I’m on the roof. I blew it I guess because I was up there this weekend hanging Christmas lights. Here’s a few shots from tonight. You can see the tops a bit from this angle.

I’m not really sure how this occurs , but that is so cool. Harry

Such a cool variegated palm. Too bad it’s not very appreciable due to its monstrous proportions, although I would be happy with such a nice palm either way. I wonder if the seedlings will be the same too, if you ever get any seeds.
