Anyone else with a Ravenea julietiae which has reached reproduction age?  My male is just now pushing out a spathe which won't open for weeks.   Share photos if you have them.

A not so subtle hint that there will be pollen available if someone nearby in Southern California happened to have a female Ravenea julietiae.

Clearly we need to get more of these beauties available for others to grow.

Well, I have a couple chugging along, but I’m afraid they’re still a at least a couple ways away from adulthood. Now, Cardiff Bill has a big one. I think I’ll pop him a text and see how his is coming along. Unfortunately, he doesn’t post much anymore.

My smaller one is about 5-7 years behind this one and this one didn't put out an inflorescence until last year at this time.  Bill is close to me, maybe 3 miles drive.  Obviously the other big question is whether his is female if it has pushed an inflorescense already.  Glad you have some coming up too Bret, since with numbers, we are bound to get a female among us.  Word of warning, keep an eye out for SAP's on these.

I’m glad we all got these when we did. They were everywhere as seedlings for a year or two, and since then, have been nowhere. Probably one of the best. “new to cultivation“ palms we’ve had, right up there with B. alfredii imo.
