    Chamaedorea sefritzii or costricana?

    C potchutlensis? I don’t see the typical costaricana ligules.

    Looks like Seifritzi to me but there are other Chamaedorea that show similar traits. Harry

    It looks like that is in a nursery somewhere, it’s been a long time since- I’ve seen them in nurseries around here. They used to be very common . I planted mine in the ground and it got very large and , after 25 years , still sending out pups! Harry

    I can’t see potchutlensis getting around Europe in a big way, looks more like a juvenile sefritzii.

    Yeah I reckon you’re right. At first glance early this morning without brightness turned up on the phone I thought stems too thick and leaflets too wide to be seifrizii but I’d say it could just be well grown. Taller stems’ leaflets appear to be splitting thinner as they grow which matches up to seifrizii.

    I grew hundreds of sefritzii years ago! Nothing like a bit of screen time at 6 in the morning! 🤣

    It seemed familiar to us the whole time. There were two near the border to Austria a few days ago, but they wanted $40 per plant there. It was Chamaedorea seifrizii and looks very similar to yours, but yours is much healthier. The other one had lots of brown leaves...

    We decided to steer clear of it. The whole store had lots of exotic plants, but they weren't in good condition. Many had spider mites, lots of brown leaves, even the CIDP, and the Washingtonia robusta looked like it hadn't seen water in weeks...

    OK unanimous verdict has been seifrizii. I have just one question to those familiar with this sp. Do well grown specimens exhibit more glaucous or striate upper stem part than pochutlensis and costaricana?
