I was visiting my Carlsbad rental and noting the changes in the Sabal mauritiiformis since it was small when I lived in the house.  It seemed that the leaf splits were more distinctive as a young plant and juvenile than now.  Photos below are from 2009, a few years after I planted it.

Here is the same palm today in 2025.  I like the thatched trunk.  It is much more difficult to see the glossy adaxial leaf vs dull almost blue abaxial side that was so defined as a juvenile palm.   Has anyone else noticed these changes with their Sabal mauritiiformis ?
