Soil has very good drainage. Garden center thinks I'm over watering? Any thoughts?20251006_093109.thumb.jpg.6a0b9d0898ac42709ac03b06f7120d01.jpg20251006_093109.thumb.jpg.6a0b9d0898ac42709ac03b06f7120d01.jpg

They need more water. Infrequent deep watering is best but during hot dry spells 2 times a week is recommended.  They need the soil to be moist but not soggy.  Put a layer of mulch around the base to trap moisture then take it from there. The burned tips are almost unavoidable in the Texas heat.  Trachies grow and survive in Texas but prefer cooler wet climates for best look.

I don't think you'll get away from yellow tips in Texas unless its in full shade.  Back in Oregon, ones that were planted in full sun, especially parking strips always had a lot of yellow on them.

Drought induced sunburn.

They like water at the roots, like the same amount to maintain lush green lawn.

Probably most noticeable on the south and west side of your palms.

I kind of get the same thing here in central NM. Easy to trim off with scissors if it really bothers you.

Or.....just view from the north!

P.S.   not over watering. And you are probably headed into prime season for trachy growth in San Antonio.  So keep watering.

.my Trachycarpus is in full sun on a south facing slope , inland about 20 miles. The tips of the fronds yellow especially in summer. I water at least twice a week in hotter months. The nes growth is nice and dark green but ultimately get sun burned tips. The ones I see in shade do much better. Mine grows fine where it is and I don’t mind a bit of burn. Harry

During the summer months I generally gave mine 2 gallons every day, sometimes twice that.
