4 palms that are suited to a subtropical climate

Featured Replies

Four standout palms that are suited to the subtopics, cool tolerant, heat tolerant and all tough palms. Just add water. IMG_4593.thumb.jpeg.e88018310954c58da76464a0537a948a.jpegArenga engleri IMG_4591.thumb.jpeg.87266dc5289ca0db49375f2d3fb517b2.jpegChambeyronia hookeri IMG_4590.thumb.jpeg.11801d4c11b7f107b0605de5079e5f0b.jpegwallichia densifolia IMG_4589.thumb.jpeg.5dde871b1a09b1d0d4421fc8e73a6655.jpeg cocothrinax alta

Whoa iam no mathematician, but I know that’s hot, the max my temperature my garden he’s ever seen is 43 degrees Celsius, so according to my maths that’s 111F , close but no cigar.

If given adequate irrigation and the more the better, it’s surprising how well palms tolerate the heat, create humidity and they tolerate a lot higher temperatures than they normally would in habitat.

Those are winners for sure . I know at least two will grow here. Harry

Try the other two you will be surprised, the Wallichia though does need room to grow not one for a small garden, what it lacks in height it makes up for in width!
