Any ideas as to these brown spots

A bit of a baffle as to what these dark patches. Both sides of the leaf are shown. I don’t think it’s cold damage, could be wrong, but that’s what this forum is about learning and today I need to learn! Thanks

did you say you were going through winter? would think it's easier for plants/palms to pick up bacterial issues cold and wet

I think it's lack of micros. Of course, that could be exacerbated by the winter. Your houses are cold frames, right?

We just came out of winter and it’s warming up now, pretty well the first month of spring has gone by. Didn’t really think bacterial issues. Will look into it thanks.

Possibly lack of micronutrients. That is one issue with the soil in my area at times. These palms have been outside, but yes I do have greenhouses. Thanks

Could you name the palm?

No just this one, it’s a mystery to me, the  ones in the ground are ok.

The other week when I was in Sydney, I was talking with another palm grower who knew his stuff well. And one of my questions I asked him which I thought was a cold problem was more than just cold, it appeared to be a fungal disease that was systemic. I did get a helpful answer to solving this problem. Which was great to be able to ask someone who had a different opinion on the subject. That is what I like about palm talk you just never know what you learn until you learn it.

Richard

Right you are about that. I’ve learned a bunch! Harry
