It’s chamaedorea flower time in the garden. With some good rainfall again there looking rather happy about the situation and the good growing conditions. I don’t know how many varieties of chamaedoreas I have or how many there are in the garden but there’s a lot!

Very lush environment for those . We actually got a bit of rain from the remnants of a tropical system off Baja . I haven’t been out in the garden since the rain , the tree trimmers are coming today for the annual Syagrus and Washingtonia trimming , so I have to move all my potted seedlings and stuff into the garage . It has been very tropical feeling here so I’m looking forward to gardening today after the tree service is done.

They grow very well in my climate chamaedoreas. It’s been very wet this year, and the amount of plants I have put in the ground are definitely taking advantage of it. It must cost you a bit each season to bring the arborist, iam glad I don’t have that problem with my palms. Your temperatures must be starting to cool off now and giving you that not so hot dry feeling. Get out and start gardening I took advantage of the wet winter and planted all winter.

Amazing to see all these beautiful plants. Your climate seems to fit perfect. Especially the ones with leaves like metallica or ernesti augusti are looking so magical.

I think it’s the sandy soil, or just the temperatures. I can get a 20 degree Celsius fluctuation in one day. That may play a part in one reason why they grow so well. Either way I love chameadoreas and will plant more of them out in the garden.
