I saw some very large and established A. catecha palms today at a nursery here in Cyprus. 34°N they were going for 450Euros so if someone wanted to experiment, that’s what they’d need to cough up hehe

Picture is from Google. I didn’t take any myself but I will if I go back. If they had smaller ones I’d definitely buy one!

My friend, 450 Euros is a lot of money, I wouldn't risk it.

That's a lot of money. I didn't know Nicosia was expensive.

I love Cyprus (Kittim). Ancient glory of the Greek peoples. The Patmos of the Apocalypse and of John the Theologian. The island served as a place of confinement for prisoners. Congratulations on your island, friend!

Chipe = Chipre? No puedo entender haha

Kittim (Kition) is exactly in Larnaca where I’m living though.

It’s an interesting place Chipre, with a rich history for sure. Palm wise… room for improvement haha especially as with the right microclimate there’s so much growing potential here.

Kittiim was the founder of the island. This was its ancient name. It is the original biblical name for Cyprus.

Interesting. Apparently though, it was first just a settlement here in Larnaca. Oldest living city on the island.

The name was changed to Kition and now of course Larnaca

Very interesting, my friend.

Javan, Elisa, Tarshish, Dodanim, Kittim, the entire race of Greek peoples on the islands and throughout the Mediterranean. The Greeks traded with the Tartessians (Spain). Tartessians was an advanced civilization of the Turdetanian (Iberians) and Canaanite peoples of the Middle East.
