Hey all,

I was wondering what the consensus among those who live in impacted areas was, regarding protecting one's garden from these pests. Do arborists offer any effective pre-treatments to keep these from infecting our gardens in the first place? Thoughts, experiences, references are all greatly appreciated!

In Uruguay we are using Enamectin Benzoate trunk injections for preventive treatment of valuable palms. Residuality 9 months - 1 year

While technically not a palm I work in the blueberry industry, and when planting the blueberry trees we use a product called Suscon basically lorsban. A tablespoon per planting hole, it controls the African black beetle. And from what iam reading about the beetle thats attacking palms the same product under a different trade name is working as a control method.
