Sabal mexicanas between 1-3 years from seed, shade grown. The seed was collected beneath impressive trees in the Harlingen-Brownsville area.

  • 4x 6 gal (ceramic - I'm keeping the pot.)
  • 2x 4 gal (large white bag)
  • 2x 1 gal (small white bag)

I'm out of space so I'd like to trade for smaller palms that will live without protection like Rhapis, Arenga, S. minor, S. miamiensis, S. etonia. Chamaerops, etc.

A few times a year I drive up to DFW so we could potentially meet in Fort Worth area or somewhere along my route. That goes for the S. causiarum also.

The one with yellow spots was planted in mostly garden soil, so I just addressed that and gave them all some fertilizer. I was hoping to fit them into the 4 gallon bags but as soon as I got that one out of the pot it was obviously not going to happen.

Well, they're native to the area and have year-round growing here. I think most their growth happens between fall and spring when they aren't just surviving. Are you in zone 9 of this AHS heat zone map? I'm sure in the ground they'll grow much faster for you than a lot of folks report on this forum.

Yeah but mine are fresh sprouts. I wanna wait until they're at least taller than the grass before I plant them out. I'm barely in the 9 there but yeah. I've got a 💩 ton of those and Louisiana that have sprouted. Meanwhile I'm waiting on the Palmettos and minors to pop.

You'll do well, my friend. I'm sure some nicely shaped palm trees will come out. Good-looking.

My Bermudana turned out pretty nice. I sold most of them. So we should be good. I've got hopes. Thanks buddy.

I guess since this rarely used sub forum got bumped, I'll bump this for Matt. The 1 gallon plant he sent me barely fit in a 3 gallon pot, so I can attest to the size and quality.

Thanks John. Most of these are still available and they're all free for pickup. I'm moving very soon and there is no empty space for large trees.
