Okay what's everyone's favorite band or artist.  Mine would have to be Green Day.

Wayyyyyyy  too many choices  to pick just 1  ..or even list a top 10,  in any one genre,  esp. after meeting numerous bands / artists of all stripes in person over the years.

As long as the sound being heard in my ears isn't anything Country, religious, folks-y,  soft / yacht rock-y, or a majority of hip hop since the late 90s    ....or anything  classical ( i'll literally bail out of a car playing it ) ..its all good.

As far as band  high/low - lights witnessed are concerned ?

** One thing i can say, ...with 100% accuracy:  If they're even still around..   String Cheese Insident ever plays in your town, anticipate a major hailstorm..  Happened both times they played the night spot i worked at when i lived in KS..

** Dark Star Orchestra? ( A Greatful Dead cover band ) =  ..Expect to be snowed in  ..That happened as well when they rolled through town when i lived there..

..You'll feel your way out of both of their shows ( Both bands were heavy on the fog machine )  hot and sweatty, bathed in the heavy scents of miss Mary j and beer on ya.  Even if you don't partake in either..

** John Meyer?  absolute D******* bag..  Female audience attending his show was the only bonus to dealing w/ him that night.

** Gwar.. Hilarious

** Ben Folds ( 5 ).. Exactly as one would imagine his concert might go.. Nice guy too.

** Weezer - LOL

** Alien Ant Farm ..Good time..

** Semisonic ..Best " Closing Time " ever..

** Crystal Method, Dropkick Murphys, Mighty Mighty Bosstones,  Biz Markie,  and Black Eyed Peas.. wish we'd had more time to hangout after each of your shows.

** Nice to have briefly met Sublime before Bradley Nowell passed.

** Signed copy of a specific track the Crystal Method produced, before the title / some of the lyrics were changed ( ...in response to 911 ) will be cremated alongside me when i die..

Thanks for one of the eerie -est  electronic music tracks ever produced.

** First concert i ever attended?  Lionel Richie and The Commodores, Great America Amusement Park, Santa Clara, CA. 1988..

** Metallica dropping in at the neighborhood Tower Records on a warm summer day in San Jose? ..Best concert  ..Ever.

06- 04- 1996..

Man, this is way too broad of a question but I'm with Silas. Anything that's not churchy or country. I'm a white guy who grew up in the suburbs so of course I love hip hop, especially Dirty South and old skool East Coast stuff. I can do metal (just not the screaming stuff where you can't understand it - the Liquid Metal channel on XM is full of great examples of this), I can go back to hair metal, 90s alternative, the "Nu Metal" where rap and metal combined (although in hindsight, Fred Dursts lyrics are horrible), I'm all over the place. It all depends on my mood and what I'm trying to do. So now that I've established myself as this metal and hip hop person, I love Sabrina Carpenter's voice. I try to limit this to when I'm alone in the car so nobody will judge me, but after a lifetime of hating it I can tolerate a little Top 40 stuff now, but 95% of the time I have the XM on Rock The Bells (old skool hip hop).

Thanks for all the responses guys!. For most of my life I haven't really had a favorite band or artist but Here are some bands/artists that I really like and favorite song by them.

Eagles, Take it easy. Definitely in my top 10 songs

The offsprings, pretty fly for a white guy. Nothing to say about it it's just a really funny song

Rancid Time, bomb. A classic!

Pure Prairie League,  Amie. Such a classic song

Green day, This is a hard question because I don't have a favorite song from Green Day I have listened to a lot of their songs and they're all very good but if I would have to choose it would probably be When I come around or in the end.

I have a pretty good range of music taste, with my last three concerts attended being Metallica/Pantera/Suicidal Tendencies, Rammstein and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

If I were to rank my top five, it'd be AC/DC, GnR, Metallica, Rammstein and Iron Maiden.

Oh yeah, and throw some old school in there like Ice T, Newcleus, Grand Master Flash and more 😆

My son randomly asked me last week if I had to pick one song to be my number one, I chose Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.

I had an ex fiancee who got me Judas Priest tickets for my birthday one year. Thin Lizzy opened and then Black Label Society. I got her pregnant that night. Maiden is right up there too, any singer who flies his own 747 with a fireplace inside of it is absolutely baller.

What? No one likes classical music.

Oh well, it's your loss, I'm listening to Lachrimae right now.

I do not like commercial/radio country at all, but the alt-country/americana genre(s) produced some great bands before hipsters ruined it.

Nu-metal made me abandon rock music and to me, pop, rap/hiphop music is like listening to nails on a chalkboard.

Most of the bands and artist that I listen to have died or retired, but the active people that I listen to the most are Metallica, Jay Farrar(including Son Volt), PJ Harvey and Toadies.

I'll have to start playing it in the garden.

Give classical a chance, it's great.

I did! Metallica did a whole album with an orchestra, and Cypress Hill had orchestra in the Homerpalooza episode or the Simpsons.

S&M was a really big deal.

Homerpalooza was a great episode, but The Smashing Pumpkins had the best role.

Homer: "You know my kids think you're the greatest, and thanks to your gloomy music they've finally stopped dreaming of a future I can't possibly provide."
Billy Corgan: "Well we try to make a difference."

Peter Frampton losing it over his sandwiches was a great bit too. Such a timeless show with so many great jokes, about 80% of which they'd never get away with today.

Yes, Peter Frampton was great too. I miss the good old days of the Simpsons, it's a real shame that they never had an episode with The Butthole Surfers.

One of the Flanders kids wore one of their t shirts in the hurricane episode though

Everyone favors the music of their youth.  I enjoyed the Beatles, Stones, Doors, Grateful Dead, Hendrix etc.

Nowadays it's solely opera, and primarily Wagner, Verdi, Bellini, and Donizetti.   :winkie:

I was never really a fan of Green Day when I was younger and I'm still not today.

Blink 182 were my favourite band when I was a kid. I grew up on that era of late 90's / early 2000's pop/punk rock when it was Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Limp Bizkit, Sum 41, New Found Glory, Offspring, Bowling For Soup etc. I used to be a big fan of a British band called 'Lostprophets' too, but then their lead singer did some terrible, terrible things and well, lets just say we cant listen to them anymore. ☠️

As I have got older I have developed a soft spot for Nirvana, although I used to hate them when I was a kid and a teenager. I still cannot stand Smells Like Teen Spirit nowadays, but I do like a lot of their other stuff now. I have also developed more of an appreciation for Pearl Jam too. I have always liked the Red Hot Chilli peppers as well. I would say overall, my best band of all-time is RHCP. If there was one band that I was forced to listen to all day non-stop, it would probably be RHCP as they have so many albums and songs.

Worst band and worst song goes to My Chemical Romance. Even when I was a kid I would switch 'Black Parade' off the second it came on the music channel or radio. Just terrible. Never liked them or their style. Same with that Paramore band.

Disclaimer - I was about 8-9 years old in 2001 when I got Blink 182's 'Take off your pants and jacket' album.

Cherubs. Insane post hardcore/noise rock band from Austin that hits like a truck (think Jesus Lizard or Big Black but sludgier)
