I haven't grown this Butia but from what I've read the fruit shape looks right for archeri but I thought mature fruits were purple.  Maybe they aren't fully ripe yet?  I think @Scott W grows archeri and he could give you better information.

Beautiful palm!

Are you asking if it is Butia archeri?

Mine are not as mature as that one, and they have yet to produce viable seed though this is the second year they have fruited.

I posted these photos because the fruits are different from one bract to the next. Strange for the same palm tree. The orange fruits were stuck in the bract. They have a subglobose shape. I was the one who freed them. Have you ever seen this phenomenon?

@MobileBayGarden might know too?

Beautiful palm though.

I've seen that with my Butia odorata.  It had 4 or 5 inflorescence open at once and it seemed that all the energy went into the first one.  There must have been 20 lbs of fruits on it when they matured but the others only produced minimal amounts of fruit.  There's still one with immature green fruits on it currently after harvesting the other fruits 5 weeks ago.

Beautiful Butia archeri var. archeri! I have seen this several times on other Butias and Syagrus. It happens when the emerging spathe gets damaged by low temperatures and continues pushing out after the growing season starts again and can restrict emergence. The damaged portion will be much smaller and dries out.

I have also heard of some growers intentionally tying spathes closed to promote higher germination. Beautiful tree my friend!

Thank you for your observations and comments. I'll keep you updated on the progress of the fruit...

Interesting, my friend Phillipe. I didn't know what you just explained.
