"Oh it'll be super cool to put a bunch of Sabal Louisiana seeds in this 16 oz New Orleans Saints cup for their community pot!"

I don't think they've even been in there a month and I think they need a bigger container. This isn't even all of them in the cup. I learned from my sideways growing deformed Mexicana and put these in pots as soon as I saw roots. There's 2 more community pots of these and I even found a handful that I set down intending to grab another pot for them, but I needed to take my pills.

I hope these things keep growing this fast. They're not Washies but I am seeing noticable growth every single day with these.

Might as well find a good spot for them in the ground and put mesh over them to keep the critters out. :)

You think they're big enough to handle winter already? I still haven't planted out the stuff I got from Teddy because I'm afraid of polar vortexes and not having enough stuff to cover them (Vulcano, Birmy, Lisa, Trachy) or the Trachy hybrids I got from Nate. Hell I still haven't split up the Etonia you sent me. They're still rootbound in that Starbucks cup, but I did hack a bunch of drainage holes in it.

But these are way faster than the Mexicanas.

They're easy to protect if this winter is a bad one.  If you put a bucket over them and they should be fine.  That's not too much effort for the first 3-5 years until they are fully embedded and ready to fly solo.

I guess I'll go dig some holes when it cools off a little more. Mark them with bricks because the grass is definitely going to tower over them lol..

Plant em John.

They're easy to protect at that size and if you lose some they'll be the weak ones.

The weak ones are already mulch. Well one is hanging on, but I lost a princeps and the rough looking hybrid.

Buddy, I regret to inform you that the last princeps just spear pulled on me. So I lost both princeps and one of the hybrids. The good news is I've got plots picked out for the 2 good looking hybrids and a community pot of Waggy x Fortunei seeds on the carport that oh crap, I probably need to go water them. I gave it some peroxide but at this size, I dunno.

Speak of the damn devil.

I went to water and check that pot. I threw uncleaned seeds into $3 potting soil and y'all can tell me I baby my seeds all day, but the amount of fungus gnats in that pot was insane. And I guess it's good that I did check it because my dumb self apparently put waaaaay too many seeds in that pot. So I sifted through this wet mucky construction debris garbage and there's probably 20 that have sprouted and half of them had the growth points popped already. So I took everything that sprouted and put it in a different pot with the last of this brick of coir, one brick left. I'll get to the rest of them later - but I didn't expect to see that many pop up so fast. Maybe a month and a half? I'm gonna have to get creative quick fast and in a hurry. There's probably 40 more that haven't sprouted yet.
