Welp, first off I'd like to voice my displeasure with the United States Postal Service for holding this in Memphis for an extra 5 days. On the other hand, given the way it was packed, I guess I should also give them kudos that it arrived at all and I can clearly see where they retaped it shut from the piss poor job of packing it. Part of me wants to be petty and leave negative feedback, but it did get here in one piece, I did get what I purchased, and I know everyone doesn't package things like Phil at Jungle Music. I swear I've had orders from him with actual lumber to protect the palms, but a literal handful of packing paper ain't gonna protect anything.

Flimsy box, literally a palm in a Ziploc bag with maybe a foot of packing paper to protect it. At least she used the name brand bag and name brand paper towels I guess. Anyway, here's the palm itself. I'll go pot it up once it cools off, should be around 2 or 3 am I guess.

I guess for $15 shipped, I can't complain too much. Anyway, it's even funnier since those canna lily seeds I ordered were postmarked Friday in just a stamped envelope and they got here today too, and Friday was the expected delivery date of this CIDP. Neat.

I'd also like to thank my adopted mentor, exotic palm grower, advice giver and kangaroo adopter @happypalms for the package that arrived today. I got some chamaedorea seeds, and some Kentia seeds that are so fresh that you can tell they sat in a hot warehouse in Miami for a week if you're picking up what I'm putting down. I'm especially happy about the Benezeii because I learned the hard way they can't handle Texas heat, even in the shade - that was a $120 lesson right there. And maybe if I grow Kentia from seed, they won't die on me.

Today was also my first time shipping a plant, so fingers crossed it does better than this CIDP did. Also, for those of you who don't know, pirateship.com is awesome. I had to drive 30 miles each way to the nearest UPS dropoff location, but it'll get there in less than a month and it was a great bargain.

Congratulations are in order for you, firstly on your cidp, today a cidp tomorrow that dream Joey, now you will be hooked on mail order palms for all eternity with no chance of rehabilitation. I have done my job well then I see as a palm paddler and have you hooked on that insidious palm collecting obsession, that never ends.
Now I hear you have some craftwork beads that have landed on the shores of the good old Uncle Sam land called the US of A, from that great land far across the ocean where kangaroos 🦘 bound  far and wide and craftwork beads grow on palm trees in a land down under.
And I do believe that they will be well looked after these beads of seeds oh great John. A little birdie told me that they are chamaedorea adscedans and benzei along with the Howea fosteriana.
Enjoy them and may they grow into your heart. And an update will be required as per your import permit requirements that was hours of paperwork for you to import such important craftwork beads.
Good luck and may the palm gods be with you.

Muchas gracias, señor. As soon as I can peel myself out of this chair I'll get to soaking. I had never heard of adescendens until I saw this one on eBay and now it's gonna have lots of little friends.

Wait, you guys call checkmarks ticks down there?
