I don't doubt the rarity of this, but I've lived in houses that weren't worth $20k. Well, maybe they are in today's economy. I guess the good news is if you scroll around enough you'll get an offer for $16k.

I wonder if people post things like this hoping that some drunk idiot will buy it. I mean, all it takes is one. It does have a nice watermelon like variegation pattern but unless you get up close, you probably won’t ever notice it. It will just look like a nutrient deficient palm from a normal viewing distance.

Not to mention once it gets tall it will be rendered essentially meaningless. "Here's a rare, variegated palm I have you're welcome to get on this ladder or cherry picker to look at it yourself." I don't doubt it's worth more than the average reclinata, but maybe by few hundred. Perhaps even a bit north of $1,000 to the right buyer, 20k is absurd.

Maybe if I could drive it or live in it. I think this is the most expensive palm I've ever seen.

I'm not gonna badmouth anybody though because they might be on here and they also have a much smaller, much cheaper C. Alba that I kind of want..

Maybe it's because I'm poor, maybe it's because I'm still a rookie, but I just don't see the appeal. I'm sure to.someone it's a unicorn but to me it looks sick. And re: variegation - I remember a few years ago when everyone was going insane for variegated monstera, and now you can literally buy them at Lowes. I don't think this will ever end up at Lowes and and it's definitely unique, but for that price I could buy a little land and a.house.and pay someone to do all the dirty work building me the garden I want, and probably have enough left over for an old Tacoma and an old Lexus again. That's like 5 years salary of the best paying job I ever had.

But like PT Barnum said, there's an ass for every seat.

No, you really should if they deserve it, whether they're on here or not.

Cynical, predatory and pathetic are a few words that spring to mind.

Think of all the great palms you could get for 20k!  Ebay, its like a box of chocolates, you might not like what you get.

This is not the first one this specific seller has posted. Some months ago I saw them selling a variegated reclinata for $9999.99. The variegation was better than the one they have posted right now; but, neither justified being that expensive.

Lol I'm shocked they didn't include some Dollar General Ziploc bags with this. This is like 14 separate felonies in Texas right here.
