A few more to go in the garden, from germinating them to growing them and planting them, it gives me great joy seeing them go in the garden, every time I plant a palm in the garden and tuck it in I give a joyful yes with a smile from ear to ear, knowing what it will look like in the years to come!

I love all the pics of all the cool stuff you've got growing down there. Meanwhile I'm all excited for a $15 date palm seedling and a certain envelope that's currently sitting in Customs in Miami.

I've got about eleventy kajillion sprouts going. I just wish these Brahea would sprout and I could get my hands on some Butia species. And I wish there was a magic button to make them all mature instantly. And clone your greenhouses over here. And give me energy and make me not sweat so much, and no more freak Arctic winters, and another greenhouse just for philodendrons, and an endless supply of coco coir, pumice, and Stink Water, and grass that never grows, and a mountain of compost and sand, and another old Toyota truck, and and and and and....

That's a given. Maybe a little brother for Sancho, too. And make it 2 old Toyotas - let me get a Stout with a Tacoma (y'all call them Hilux) drivetrain, and a super rare 2 door 4runner (Y'all call them Surfs). I dunno about down there, but here they were only built in 1990.

I'll never buy anything but an older Toyota again. I loved my Tacoma. A 10mm, 12mm, and a 14mm and you could tear the thing down to bare frame. It was worthless as a truck after all I did to it, and it was scary as hell to drive in the rain with the engine mods and no traction in the bed, but I put a killer stereo in it and it looked cool.

I can tell you literally every modification I did to it, and every part I replaced. This thing absolutely ate wheel bearings and ball joints, and it sounded a lot faster than it actually was lol.

I bought a Lexus GS300, my dream car, to drive around and kept the truck and I'm glad I did because it got totalled out. Then I bought a Venza during COVID and it was comfortable but it wasn't what I wanted - but at the time you had to buy what was available and the truck just wasn't safe to drive every day.

Hey a bit of bling there nice car. But as for the snow you can have that stuff. I spent 3 months in Manitoba Canada in winter never again minus 30 and no chance of a palm growing outside in that freezer of a place.

For years I said I lived down south because I didn't want to deal with the snow and the cold. Now it's normal. Summers are hotter, winters are colder, storms are stronger, droughts last longer..... The crape myrtles are all dropping leaves like crazy right now because it hasn't rained in over a month.

Anyway, the truck was fun. I abandoned it when I left Texas too. I was in a bad head space, my friend rented me a Uhaul truck and a car trailer for it. For some reason, I had serious anxiety about towing a trailer and I hadn't cranked it over in at least a year. Coil on plug, so it's not like I could spin the distributor to prime the oil pump. And it would have been hell trying to load it on a trailer without the power steering working. The tires were so small you couldn't tell if they were flat until they blew out lol.... But it looked cool.

Head space is something we all need to be aware of, the back of the mind is a great place to visit and have a look around, but we just have to remember to come back out of there. How some of us deal with things that go wrong is different from person to person some just shrug it of and get on with it others have a bit more difficulties with moving on. But at least you have freedom now and lots of cats along with sancho plus your palms. They will save your sanity palms,  my garden saved me during a divorce health issues and the world ending in the pandemic. I started up my palm nursery again and iam moving forward in my life finally but it took 5 years. We all go through tough times some tougher than others!

The world has changed a lot. We grew up when there was a stigma tied to mental health. You couldn't openly talk about this stuff, especially men. It was a sign of weakness, being depressed was for women, anxiety was just unheard of. Now it's not only acceptable, but people can make a career out of talking about it on TikTok and YouTube. But we get by and we're still here.
