Why is it a reddish color? I havent found any information about this

Looks normal to me.

Maybe a bacterial film that should just wipe right off. But looks fine overall.

It's probably an orange variety. I had some coconuts sprout yellow.

Don't wipe it, it won't come off. I've had them sprout red like that, it's fine and doesn't seem to imply any particular coloration to the petiole in the resulting tree.

I think it's the variety or genetically, the germination will be that color. I've noticed it in seeds I've germinated.
