Here’s Conan who used to be an avid custodian and greeter but now appears semi retired.

Just by cosmic coincidence he looks a lot like a cup made from Caryota wood a while back.

Cats are clever, intelligent, and pretty. They have many virtues. Apparently, they also like to eat lizards, which are themselves quite nimble, according to my colleagues who live right by the lake.

Conan’s not a big lizard catcher from what I’ve seen, though he does go after a bird now and again as well as rodents.

Wow, interesting! Didn’t know you had lizards by the &nbspBodensee! Do please tell us more!

At Lake Constance, the wall lizard can mainly be found near railway tracks or on stone walls or scree with stones, while the forest lizard can be seen on trees and bushes, on trunks, and the babies are very tiny.
The sand lizard is very shy and has unfortunately been partially displaced by the wall lizard, as the latter is simply very dominant and less shy.
All three species are very special, curious in their behavior, and sometimes, if you approach them carefully and quietly, they will even stay where they are and listen to you if you speak softly.

If you want to see more animals, then drive about an hour to Lake Walen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walensee

There are other species at Lake Walen at my uncle's place, as well as many species of snakes.
What strikes us in particular is the difference in size. All three species are larger at Lake Walen, especially on the north shore in Weesen SG, Quinten, and Walenstadt.
It seems that the much milder climate there makes a difference; it is USDA zone 8b-9a. In addition, the average annual temperature is at least 1 degree Celsius to almost 2 degrees Celsius warmer than in the warmest places on Lake Constance.
All three species even give birth to young in winter (December, January, February), which we discovered while hiking there.
The growing season is much longer there, around 30-50 days longer per year.
