I have a newly planted bismarckia in ground. It's been in ground for a little over a month now. I have not fertilized since planting. There's one new frond & 2 new spears on it since planting.

Would it be beneficial to sprinkle some sulpomag on top of the tree near the trunk ? The palm shows no signs of any deficiencies.

Also what about using fish emulsion for fertilizer ?

I am in zone 10b - long beach. Soil is sandy & well draining. The top of the tree has mulch.

A quick pic would help or at least a description of the size of the palm. Regardless of the size, it is trying to establish a root system and can be burned by fertilizer so only use a small amount of whatever you choose. Sul-Po-Mag is generally fine for palms but it is typically used for treating imbalances. It is better to use a balanced palm specific fertilizer to avoid triggering a nutrient deficiency. Fish emulsion is good since it is not a synthetic product, but again use a small amount. The last thing you want to do is burn your palm with fertilizer while it is trying to get established.

"Top of the tree has mulch" ?

Water daily so it doesn't dry out.
