My kerriodoxa seedlings are doing a lot better this winter than last winter. After being removed from the hothouse. It was to difficult for me to grow them in a hothouse just couldn’t get it right. So off to the greenhouse they went and there doing a heck of a lot better. One dead one but I don’t think that was the cold weather. Other than that one things are looking better for them each day.

I never realized how beautiful these can be until I visited The Huntington . In the glass house it is a show stopper! HarryIMG_4473.thumb.jpeg.10c0d7dcc736a3207cdb41ff3c13a9ba.jpeg

i think they need very humid conditions. Yours are very nice but I would not attempt it here in my arid garden.

Oh yeah Harry top of the list this palm. Tim has one in Melbourne Australia and he’s happy with it you will be surprised, in a protected spot you’re in for a surprise!

Kerriodoxa elegans are cold hardy, the colder the area, the slower they grow. Low humidity has not been an issue and appear to survive low watering.  They thrive in Wollongong and Sydney botanic gardens and in a cold low watered area of my garden.

They constantly surprise how tough they are

That’s what I keep telling them, just sold one to bloke in Casino nsw. It should live with protection. Will be interesting to get feedback on that one!
