I came across this palm in a private collection and was amazed at its beauty. Cocothrinax came to mind but after that I was lost. So time to hit up the gurus in palm land. Thanks in advance.

I know the leaves but can't think of the name. Pretty sure it is not a Coccothrinax however.

Guihaia argyrata Richard. Probably a very old plant. Not sure if you had a look but the abaxial surfaces should be silvery white. The unique identifier is the reduplicate leaflets (A shaped rather than V shaped) for a fan palm.

Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

Hot, dry summers. Cold, wet winters.

Hello Patrick, my friend!

Luckily I have two and they are different, maybe one is guihaia argyrata and the other is guihaia grossifibrosa, I said maybe because I'm not really sure what species they are, the only problem is that they are very slow.

Awesome! I keep trying to grow seedlings and I'll get a few to sprout but they always seem to die on me.

Let them dry out a bit as seedlings and good air movement.
