One tough cycas. Rare palm seeds would be responsible for a lot of Dioon spinolosum in Europe I would think.

Correct , super tough and easy to grow in a warm temperate climate. They can take full sun and arid conditions when acclimated. This is about 25 years from a 10” nursery pot , they get large . Harry77216536508__D8BB8DF8-1E7D-49F0-9195-FD13DFAE58CD.thumb.jpeg.1b6345392f3d020d8f522a7011b4d3fa.jpeg

‘From one of my previous posts . It is now , since this pic , sporting a new set of fronds!

It’s wonderful to work in the garden, just wondering around doing maintenance.

My Dioon spinulosums came from Rosebud Farm just before Rich passed away. I had to leave one in the ground when I moved but still have one here in a big tub.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the age of plants. Blows my mind. Then I think about 25 years ago and oh I was already an adult and they play music I grew up with in grocery stores now and.... Never mind, but that cycad is beautiful and impressive. I wish I got into plants when I was a lot younger now.

All this age of plants thing means is that the gardeners who planted them will  soon be dead and you can go and dig up all the plants you like.

Peachy

I'm at this weird point where I'm too lazy and sick to dig them up and too impatient to grow my own.
