Another medium sized dypsis that is still a dypsis the rivularis. A beautiful palm worth growing in any collection. Quite tough yet so beautiful, easy to grow and germinate. They get a nice bit of colour with a bit of age in the trunk. Cool tolerant down to 2 degrees Celsius and possibly lower, frost would not be its friend, they love water, and about all they really need is good drainage. And still a little it rare available but a rare.

You just reminded me to hurry up and plant mine. Winter doesn't bother it at all here. However Richard,  friend, pet, sweetie, I dare to disagree with you about their need for drainage.  They don't mind wet feet at all and originated in riparian habitats.

Then plant away my possum, they dont seem to mind my sandy soil that drains quicker than a bank account at a PACSOA show. That said they will drink like Bob hawk in a beer drinking contest!

I really have come to appreciate this genus , or whatever name they give it , they are nice along my pathway . If @peachy has one , that means single trunk variety so I will keep my eye out for one . I don’t get frost here in the garden so I would think it would survive. My plan is to add a couple more as I find them. The color on that young one of yours is already pretty cool. The fastest growing one so far is the Lanceolata ….for me anyway. Harry

It is a real winner of a little dypsis, definitely worth growing, a nice group of three would look pretty good. But as a single they stand out.
