This Acrocomia aculeata in the sidewalk of my house is much more slower and smaller than another Acrocomia in my backyard (Same age as this one) that is bigger and more robust. Noticed this one folds its leaflets and they are very thin compared to my other Acrocomia which produces leaflets that are much more larger and bigger. Does anyone know what should I apply to fertilize A. aculeata and boost its growth?

A broader view in sitio might help.

Perhaps pH of the soils is different or maybe this one cannot draw up as much moisture.

The folding of the leaflets could be a sign of water stress. As for fertiliser less is best, there are two types of fertilisers synthetic or organic. If it was my palm i would use organic fertiliser, in the form of a little chicken manure (pelletised) sprinkled around the area along with a liquid seaweed. The seaweed will help in vitamin B stress relief and also act as a soil tonic conditioner, this will help your palm get a move on.

Thanks, I thought it was a sign of soil being too dry but now it makes sense, I water it very often (Every 2-3 days) and mexican Acrocomia aculeata grows in dry, fire susceptible areas that have a wet season.

As for the fertilizer, I was indeed asking for an organic one since these are palms that usually grow in poor soil. I will try using chicken manure.

Use a pipe pushed in the ground for deep waterings, it gets the water in deep. Fill the pipe up with water and it disks in deep  saving of time just a quick fill up daily helps, its not unsightly and effective!
