I think the tip rotted though. 6 months tucked away must have put a toll on this leaf. I wonder what it will look like when it unfurls.

For those who have top cut monsteras befor - does it take this long to get new growth?

My theory is that I must have kept it in too shady a spot. I initially put it under a shed where it only geta ambient light. It usually works well with all other plants that I transplant but for this monstera I guess it needs q minimum amount of light to get it going.

What my friend did and I am going to try is to let the plants climb out of the pot. Put it where you want it to grow. It will then root itself down, then you just cut the section that roots in the ground and move the pot (does it make sense). And then you can do it all over again. It seemed to work with hers. Mine is not quite there yet, but I will let you know how I go.

Great looking plant Scott - they do great planted in the garden and suprisingly once acclimated they can can hack full sun even - I have one of mine in the ground planted next to a ylang ylang tree it is starting to send out aerial roots holding on to the tree and gets full sun from noon till about 4pm It ha been growing wonderfully. However, remember for full sun you have to slowly acclimate it to the brighter light so it doesn't burn.

I cant imagine a more spectacular plant to brighten a shady corner in the garden.

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c
