I understand that in these days of security concerns some may be reluctant to put travel plans online.

With my physical address not public and good security I don’t have that concern.

President Andy Hurwitz and I really want to see folks on PT who may have never made the leap to longer, more costly travel jump at this chance.

If you have signed up because of PT please PM me or if you want to post here please do so.

If you PM me I will NOT share your PT or real name,  but maybe your State/country and that you were inspired to sign up because of PT.

If you can’t make it but want the chance to attend another similar format event please share that too.

Thanks so much.

Hello! I'm new here, so please don't judge me too harshly. When will there be more events like this?

Welcome to PalmTalk Gumbador!

We are a friendly group so don’t worry about harsh judgement here.

Maybe the occasional teasing among long term posters, but the forum is owned and paid for by the nonprofit International Palm Society and we come here to learn and have fun.

Back to your question, the only current travel  which isn’t already sold out is Vietnam!

https://ips13.wildapricot.org/event-6242322

and the shorter Texas Biennial admittedly a long flight for you.

However if you want to visit amazing gardens in the U.S. with Texas as part of a longer trip I can guarantee you would meet attendees in CA, FL, PR etc who would welcome you to visit our gardens.

I believe for Vietnam there are only 5 spots out of 100 remaining and all the information is in the link above.

You will see that unlike commercial tour companies we see palms in habitat, led by true experts and so much more so I suggest you strongly consider it.

The post tour is sold out with a waiting list, but many of us have planned to extend our travel to spend time in Singapore, Cambodia or more areas of Thailand.

The IPS generally has a big travel opportunity every two years and the Directors meet with a smaller group on the alternate years.

Our current IPS President has added Benefactor travel where so far 38 people have made a one time donation including lifetime IPS membership to be invited to go in smaller groups to additional locales.

Reunion Island was such a trip and I can attest that it was amazing!

Benefactors also receive the chance to sign up a few days early for other travel such as the quickly sold out Thailand post tour.

The Weekend Biennial is a new addition to IPS travel designed to be low cost, a la Carte style and so far only in the United States. The idea is that exemplary regional clubs will cosponsor supported by the IPS for a win win for everyone.

I have heard various locations being selected and planned for all of the above, but as the Board of Directors has not voted on all of them I will let ASHCVS/ Palm Prez/Andy Hurwitz release the information in our newsletter and on PalmTalk as well as our other online options at a time of his choice.

Hope to see you in the future!
