This is the first year in eternity I didn't get MLB.tv, so I'm in withdrawal. But my beloved Cubbies are currently in first place despite injuries to their top 2 SP's. They finally trade for a superstar player, and Cubs Twitter is confident he won't be resigned and lol just like every other star free agent, he'll probably end up a Dodger.

Umpires are still terrible, still a rash of pitching injuries around the league, and the season is 1/3 over and the Rockies have only won 9 games. 9. 9 games. The White Sox last year were the worst team of all time, and that record looks to be absolutely smashed.

Well John, you could have watched my “beloved” Dodgers absolutely, smash the Yankees last night 18-2 on Fox… No MLB.tv. required…. If you want to send any of the Cubs Superstar players to the Dodgers, that’s ok with me.🤗  …. The Cubs and Dodgers have the same W/L right now… Hopefully they’ll meet in the Playoffs…

We live too far out in the country to get local channels and we cut the satellite TV off after it went up to $250/month. I occasionally may or may not watch games on some of those certain streaming sites, but the quality may or may not be great 😂

The Dodgers are an absolute juggernaut and y'all are struggling with injuries too. Like the Gashouse Gorillas from Bugs Bunny, no real weak spots.

Broken pitchers have been the Dodgers problem for the last couple of years... Some coming back soon (I hope)... Mookie is out with a broken toe, but not on the IL... I guess a broken toe is day-to-day?... I would think it would make it hard to play...

Losing Justin Steele really hurt. I'm really afraid he's gonna end up being the next Mark Prior.

I'll give y'all this - It's impressive that there's no clubhouse drama from a team that full of star power. It'd never happen in the NFL for sure.

They have lost a few really good club house guys(Like Justin Turner) but still pick up some more ( Mookie and Freddy Freeman).. Drama guys don’t seem to last…

Turner is a Cub now. Last I looked he was hitting like .120 or something. I know they're in first but it's in a Cubs fan's DNA to complain about the front office again not getting us a better 3B or bullpen options when those have been weak spots for the last few years 😂

That’s why the Dodgers let him go… A good guy, but the glory years he had and clutch hitting are in his past… I would love to see him come back to LA as a coach…

The Cubs are right there for the best record in MLB, despite losing their best pitcher for the year (Steele), their 2nd best pitcher for a couple months (Shota), and from Cubs Twitter you'd think they were the Rockies or the White Sox.

I also don't see how Pete Crow-Armstrong doesn't win MVP this year. I hated seeing Javy Baez traded away, but now it looks like the Mets got fleeced and Baez has rebounded. It's crazy that the 2 starting center fielders in the All Star game were traded for each other....

Diamondbacks fan here ever since ‘01. Was an expos fan way back when (RIP). I like the team and the coaches but it has been tough. Missed the playoffs last year with 89 wins. I think you might have to win 95 games to get a playoff spot in this division haha.

I'm supposed to see my cardiologist on the 31st (trade deadline) and if the Cubs don't make some moves I'm probably going to scare him.

Nah, they played in Oxford that year. We beat Arkansas when they were ranked #9. I went to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta, too. We made signs and got all painted up with the MSU on our chests and we spray painted some George Washington wigs maroon and white, trying to get on TV...

Brother lol our seats were sooooooo bad. We were above the nosebleeds, I think there might have been one row of seats behind us. I swear I could have touched the cables holding the roof of the old Georgia Dome up if I just had maybe a 6 foot ladder. After the game Tennessee fans were throwing beers at us. Good times lol.

Clayton  Kershaw, one of the best pitchers of his generation retires after 18years with the Dodgers... Tonight will be his last regular season start... I'm glad he's going out on his own... Good to have watched you pitch Mr. Kershaw... Well done..

And he did it all with the same team. Not many can say that.

And the Cubs clinched a playoff spot.

I guess I should follow up and mention Anthony Rizzo's retirement celebration at Wrigley. Such a fun guy to watch. The play where he was mic'd up and caught Freddy Freeman in a rundown was such a great piece of television history. And statistically, he was also a tremendous leadoff hitter and relief pitcher 😂 Plus he has done so much for children's cancer and the Margorie Stoneman Douglas high school shooting victims.

Didn't Detroit have like an 11 game lead in the first week of September and lost the division to a team that scored 6 fewer runs than it allowed all season?  Epic choke.  Same with the Mets.  7 teams that didn't make the playoffs had a better run differential than the AL Central champ.  What?!

The Cubs won. The Dodgers look like the juggernaut we thought they were. Detroit looks like they're done with their collapse. As a Cubs fan, I really hope the time off is bad for Milwaukee because I am a very petty hater. Phillies are still gonna be a beast, and when a team like Seattle has a guy nicknamed Big Dumper who just set an all time record for HR by a catcher, they're gonna be fun to watch. I don't think the Cubs can overcome all of their injuries, losing Justin Steele aka Mississippi Fastball hurt and now losing Horton, that's a lot of quality pitching on IR. Nobody talks about Toronto, they just quietly dominated. It's gonna be fun. Lots of former Cubs from the 2016 team I can't hate on. I still love Baez and I'm still pissed off that they let Schwarber walk over $8m. Anyway Go Cubs.

Fun time of the year... Now that we are officially in October its playoff season... Dodgers started out great with a leadoff HR by Ohtani (1 of 2), 2 by Hernandez, 1 by Edman and played offense very well... Pitching by Snell was excellent until the relievers came in and made it interesting... Final score Dodgers 10, Reds 5...

Cubs need a comeback... It doesn't help that the broadcasters keep bringing up 1984, which tbh I don't remember much about.

Well, John, Both of our teams made it through the wildcard round.. The teams need to keep up the momentum and meet up in the NLCS… Tough road a head, but we should have some fun baseball to watch…. Good luck to your Cubbies.. For now.😉

It was awkward watching Darvish and Estrada get shelled like that but loyalty is loyalty. Good luck vs the Phils. Lol imagine if this Cubs team has a bat like Kyle Schwarber, I wonder what that would look like 😂
