My one Brahea calcarea seems to push two fronds simultaneously every second new frond. I have noticed this about four times now.
Does that make sense?  The sentence seems confusing to me. Anyhow, see the attached pics.

I am not sure  I have understood entirely the issue. Therefore I I wish only to mention a general observation, whether it is relevant or not in present case. In temperate places with intensive xerothermic summer, many plants await  the cooler and moister season or part of it, in order to promote new growth and catch up lost growth during the hot and dry weather, before real cold breaks in.

My Brahea Super Silver sometimes does the same. I’ve never noticed it with any other palm, ever. I wonder whether this is a trait and this is evidence that Super Silver is a variety of calcarea as suspected. I’d be curious to hear everyone else’s experience.

I have a Super Silver doing the same thing right now as well. Must just be something that happens occasionally. It doesn't concern me though; it's nice to see how eager it is to push out leaves...

It’s just an observation that I made:  the Brahea calcarea in the pictures keep opening two fronds at the same time.

That is great to hear!  I have not seen it on any of my other palms either.
