Most of these pictures are of windmills but if you look closely in the second pic you'll see a palmetto and maybe the brazoria.

@Zone7Bpalmguy what type of cycad is that under the deck? It looks healthy. How has it done in your winters?

The condition of your Trachy fronds is great. They must get good protection from the wind. My Trachy, though somewhat protected, gets a bit beaten up but the new fronds are coming out fast so I’ll trim it up a bit and clean it up. Nice job on the palms.

@KPoff My sago palms are both just regular revolutas. It has done well but I do protect it. This past winter I dropped to 10'F. Here's a video of what I do with them. I will be doing a video of them later on after they completely flush out. Thanks!

Thanks. A sheltered microclimate is the only way to go in my marginal zone 7B climate. These windmills are growing on a southeast and southern exposure. They did have a few cosmetically rough looking fronds (about 1/3 of the frond length) from the snow and ice in the winter but they are growing nice normal fronds now.

@Zone7Bpalmguy I planted a little $15 one I got from Walmart last summer. It made it through this rather cold winter although we didn’t see anything colder than our 8A rating. It was small enough I covered it with a bucket and some leaves and it did just fine. I think 12 F is the coldest we saw this year.
