I am livid because I am watching an arborist instruct a man with cleats climb different palm trees on the property where I have lived for 20 years.  It is a condo that has 22 acres with a lush tropical feel.

Our landscape company is an investment firm but the management office won't believe me because it was their choice to hire them.  They subcontracted this work out.

This guy is putting holes in all the palms inviting pests and disease and ultimately death.  This will cost us alot of money.  The property manager said that the only palms that can't be climbed using cleats are Royal Palms.  Is he right?  Am I wrong for getting so upset?

It’s not an uncommon practice, but yeah, not good for the palms health and can cause injury and spread plant diseases.  Palms don’t heal wounds like hardwood trees do.  Best to avoid this practice if you can.
