Syagrus picrophylla, Chuniophoenix nana seedlings

Both this lot I germinated from seed easily. The Chuniophoenix are a slow seeding taking it’s time to get a move on and the picrophylla seem to be the standard syagrus growth rate from the get go. Now all I have to do is plant them in the years to come.

That’s it Richard . Keep ‘em coming , the world needs more of those species. I planted a small Syagrus Schizophelia down the hill in the shade with a bit of afternoon light , so slow. Soaked and planted some Dypsis Decipiens seeds , waiting on more seeds from that tree in Ventura as the ones I planted were a few months old , but ya never know. Just plant away and grow the darn things . It’s a numbers game! I can’t remember some of the seeds I spread around until they sprout. 😂Harry

Time to make a palm expedition for more babies! TBD coming soon….

Not another one that you had that died. If i had lost as many palms as you have gyuseppe i would be devastated, to read about someone who has lost almost all their entire collection of palms I can only imagine how it would feel, I feel for you.

If you got em plant em, your climate must be hard on palms. Iam glad i only get a couple of months of the year that are cold. You’re quite lucky to have dypsis decipiens seeds but of a rare palm around here. Palms would have to one plant with so many different varieties yet so temperamental in there exact requirements for good growth true sentinels of the plant kingdom.
