More rain and the garden is going crazy you would think you where in Hawaii, let me dream of a land far far away on a tropical island called Hawaii where palms grow just by looking at them.

She is indeed a beautiful lady. I have even had one of the biggest growers in Australia ask me what it was as they had never seen it as well. A very special palm.

On the east coast of Australia in a lovely subtropical climate. The far north coast it’s a beautiful part of the world.

It's a lot taller than mine was so looks very different. Yes I potted up the sprouts, had a visit from Erica who snavelled half of them as usual ! 😏

It’s got a fair chunk of trunk I would say that for sure. I have another 20 or so in the garden and none of them have a trunk yet, so this one is absolutely jumping in comparison to its cousins. The best bit about Erica snavelling your plants is you get some back of her if you manage to kill your ones.

I find Australia fascinating. Most of the country is desert. But there are some beautiful subtropical areas, and even Mediterranean climates that resemble California. I believe Perth is like Southern California climate and biome wise.

In my opinion Australia is one of the best countries in the world. It has its advantages being so far away from the rest of the world. Our climate and our environment is absolutely beautiful, we can have floods, fire, drought and snow in one day somewhere in Australia. Perth  is a beautiful city and one of the most isolated cities in the world as far as distance from other major cities. I have never been California so I cannot comment on the difference between both places. The bio security for Western Australia is very strict they can only import seeds and not live plants basically a quarantine state within its own country. A state very rich in natural resources and beauty. But the east coast is the place to live for me. Apart from the cairns area the region just south of the Queensland border is a paradise for palm growers then a little place called the Sunshine Coast is another great place to grow palms without the cold weather or tropical cyclones that the cairns area gets.
