I have 6 of these Sabal "Lisa" and after they lingered in a slow state of growth in Oregon.  I planted the first one almost a year ago here in Houston.  I know people say they are slow but I am not really finding that, I guess they really love the climate here.  I got 8 fronds in last years growing season and it's almost pushed its second large frond this year and its at least 4 foot overall height.  The spear in the initial photo is the small frond you see on the lower right in the second photo.  It laughed at our cold this winter so I ended up planting three more.  And yes they originally came from @PalmatierMeg.  Before and after photos and I am looking forward to seeing how big they get this year.

Here's mine in ground since 2020.  I have other seedlings grown from seed but not showing any traits yet.  I do notice faster growth the past couple of years since I've been giving it more water than the renters were giving it, but still pretty slow.

Sabal sp Lisa seems to grow very slowly in pots for us but after putting them in the ground they speed up quickly.

I noticed that too.  The others which I did not plant grew a couple of fronds and are tiny in comparison.

It's looking good with the adult leaves.  Mine is still producing the single cupped leaves, but they are huge.  You can fit a couple of soda cans inside of them.

Sabals hate pots, grow faster and better in the ground. They want full sun, high heat and regular tepid water and don't find the PNW their ideal climate.

Tom they wanted to give me sabal lisa seeds, but I didn't want them, I already had all the sabal species including some hybrids

I just put my Sabal 'Lisa' in the ground this year. Hoping that will speed up its growth!😃

I didn't know that and they all thrive very well in that case 😀
The variety of things that thrive in your garden is also amazing.

How aptly put. beautiful.

The only Lisa I have is my twin sister. And amazingly she looks almost the same, practically the same height, weight etc.😁

but this type of palm is still missing

Here's my "Lisa" from local grower @chuckg.  I planted it in late 2023 from (I think) a 7g pot:

And here it is a couple of weeks ago.  Some of the older fronds ended up more "split" than normal because of two hurricanes last summer:

The one at Wollongong botanic gardens looked the same as the younger ones in the pictures above
