Jubaea Chilensis in Florida pt 2

By popular demand from @aztropic who sold me this palm. I present to you, the 2nd (that I know of) pure Chilean Wine palm in Florida.

location: Deland, FL

i have been following @Scott Ws Journey of growing his Jubaea and decided I wanted to try as well. Since I am only a hour south of his Jubaea in Jacksonville, fl. I also have a nice microclimate from a pond in my backyard that might help the humidity issue with airflow. My phoenix Canariensis is loving it so far.  
 

I originally was not going to post out of fear of failure but decided why not.

Palm is off to a beautiful start,and has already survived anything that the Arizona climate could throw at it. 120F high temps, weeks of lows in the 90's F, and humid summer monsoon seasons,along with full Arizona sunshine and overhead watering every other day during the growing season. It has had some good pre Florida training over the years, and I am looking forward to watching it grow in it's new location. One thing I have learned through experience is to never say never when it comes to a specific plants survivability. 🌴

One month update:

Put it on the same irrigation schedule as my other palms. Twice a week. Just a tiny bit of fertilizer also. No new damage from the transport (thanks to the excellent packaging by aztropic).

new spear has emerged! I could not find this spear from earlier pictures so I am very excited. Will be tracking it from now on.

next update is after the rainy and hurricane season where it will be really tested. Next update in about 6 months
